A bit delayed, but hey... :)

Got back from Tenerife a week-ish ago. Had a lovely relaxing no-stress week. Weather was brilliant - it rained on our last day, but i think that made it easier going home :p Played a rather large amount of air hockey over the week. And we won 110 Euros playin bingo! On our last night as well. Saw a snake show, parrot show, and a 'raptor' bird show (technically, I watched it through the bar window.. from a safe distance, y'see :p), went on a trip up to the top of Mount Teide - the big volcano that formed Tenerife. That was pretty cool, spectacular views of all the Canary Islands on a clear day, but it was FREEZING! 11,000-odd feet high i think? We all had to buy hoodies from the wee gift shop - it was minus one degree. There was snow just lying about.

My wee holiday highlight was going on a big catamaran to go whale and dolphin spotting. That was a 3 hour trip out to sea. Didn't see any dolphins but did see a fair few pilot whales. And two wee lazy floating turtles! Got a cracking seat on the catamaran right up the front of the boat, so we were sitting like, 5 feet above the water with nothing between us and the sea but net! Brilliant day.

Only disappointment during the whole holiday was the AquaPark. Well, half a disappointment. Saw a dolphin show there which was brilliant, but the actual poolside part of the place was poor. Had amazing slides, flumes, rapids, loads of pools and whatnot, but i shit you not, I have never felt water so cold in my life. This place was busy at 2pm, but everyone was lounging about poolside - only one person in the pool at the busiest point of the day. It took us about 15 minutes to be brave enough to get in the water, but we only stayed in for about 10 minutes. It was miserable cold!

All in all tho, it was a great week. I wanna go back! Sooo nice just to walk about somewhere different and hot. Next trip is Ireland for Oxegen, gotta get that booked up soon :)

10 days til we go on holiday :) Tickets came through yesterday - we've to be at the airport for 4am! On one hand, thats clearly the middle of the night, but on the other hand, I always find it fun getting up in the middle of the night to get a plane :) Wee bit nervous about flying - it's a 5 hour flight - but i guess that if I've been up since 3am, there's a fair chance I might sleep most of the way there. 7 full days of relaxing in the sun. I'm hoping to have a shot at jet-skiing :) Cant wait!

Killing time before my lecture.

Going to Dublin TONIGHT!! Shetland relatives are coming down to Glasgow this afternoon, then we're all flying out at 10 tonight. There's 9 of us in total :) I've never been to Ireland before. Everyone keeps saying that its very expensive and it rains all the time :p

Been back in work doing the mega club this week. Had Uni on Monday and today, so could only do it for 3 days. Still enjoyed it, but I cannot believe I done it for 6 weeks solid over the summer.

Went for lunch with Will on Monday, was good to see him and have a wee catch up. He's having a halloween party in Stirling on next week, so hopefully, work permitting, should be able to come through here for that :)

No Uni next week, and as far as I know, no work.

My birthday is approaching! Woot!

Wish I had something outrageously exciting to post.

Back at uni, half-enjoying it, half pining for the summer.

Went to see the Goo Goo Dolls last week. Just amazing :) Zutons in November, AND we've got tickets to see Tenacious D! Could not be much more excited about that :p

Dublin weekend is a week today. Looking forward to it, but SHITTING the flying part.

Shifts have changed in work, so as of Monday, I no longer only work weekends :( Pain in the arse cos ill have to rush back form Stirling to Glasgow to get to work for half 5, but i think its possible.

Got a class at 12, then heading home. Dunno what to do tonight, undecided about staying in versus doing.. something.

Finally got booked up for Dublin! Flying out on the 19th of October :) Should be good. Wanna get a wee taster of what the place is like cos I wanna go to Oxegen next year - everyone who went this year said it was great :)

Had a pure busy summer. Worked as a Kids Summer Programme Coach for 6 weeks over the summer. Thouroughly enjoyed it. Between that and my usual Saturdays and Sundays in Bella, I was in there EVERY DAY bar ONE for 6 weeks.

Went to see the Fratellis and Snowpatrol over the past two weeks. Both gigs were in Edinburgh, both were awesome. Had two lovely days through there :) Got the Goo Goo Dolls to see in October, the Zutons in November too :)

Had a pay review meeting this morning at half 8 in work. Turns out that fully qualified members of staff are getting a pay rise of... almost 4 grand a year!! Cos I'm part time, ill only get a third of that, but still, it's a healthy little lump sum to be getting. Not getting it til April though. Everyone cheered when they guy taking the meeting read out all the stats :) Working at 3 today though, poo :(

Kinda half not looking forward to going back to Uni. Think its the travelling thats putting me off. Just occured to me that I haven't pre-registered for my units. Should mibbe go do that now :p

Finally got exam results from Uni - they took aaaaaaaages. Was told they'd be up by the 18th, then the 20-somethingth, then the 30th.

I PASSED ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well chuffed. Was a bit of a stressful semester, plus I was living in Glasgow and stuff. But wooooooo, turns out it was all worth it :)

Definately going out tonight now, hehe :p

It REALLY annoyes me when people make ridiculous 'cryptic-style' journal entries and piss and moan and bitch about everyone round about them. If you hate them that much, piss off. They probably feel the same about you anyway.
Anyway. In town with Bryan, just faffin aboot the net. Going for a wander round town in a bit.
Had my last exam on Friday, wooooooooo! Just so glad that its all over tim September. Unless I have to resit in August. Fingers crossed :)
Started training to be a swimming teacher last week:) Really enjoyed it. Also doing the Kids Club - summer school thing - for 7 weeks over the summer. Good money and experience.
Just realised Ive only got 5 minutes left on this comp before it shuts down. Ah well.

Very quick update cos I'm tiiiired.

Bryan got into the teaching postgrad in Jordanhill :) He'll be moving in with me in August cos I live practically next door to the campus. He also hasn't smoked since Monday.
Mums started chemotherapy. It's been 8 days since she had her first dose. She's doing alright, I thought she would have been absolutely floored with it, but she's only had one day where she said she found it tough getting out of bed. She's going through to Edinburgh on Saturday with her sisters to see Mama Mia. They're staying the night there. I took Sunday off work, so Bryans coming round to mine on Saturday to have a crap telly night in, and then we're going to his Mums for dinner on Sunday:)
I'm looking into joining a Taiko drumming group. Did it for 2 years at school and realised recently that I really miss it. Been trying to find classes sorta locally - came across a few so far.
Mums trying to send me to a basic cooking skills classs! What CHEEK! Talk about a subtle hint!
Went to see The Ringer on Monday. Very, very funny film, AND Johnny Knoxville in nothing but a towel. Swooooooon!

Its highly unlikely that they'll come to Scotland, and that makes me very sad :(

Bryan has his interview for the postgraduate teaching course at Jordanhill from 1:30 til 4:30 today. He sounds confident in what he's done his presentation on, and I can imagine him being pretty good in individual interviews. He got a haircut, dry-cleaned his suit, and dragged me shoe shopping yesterday for shiney new shoes, so he looks the part at least, hehe:)
I'm keeping everything crossed for him:)

What an amazing amount of snow we've had! I'd only had about 2 hours of sleep on Friday night and went to bed about half 9 on Saturday night. Got up to go to work at 8ish on Sunday morning, opened my blinds when I was still half asleep and thought I was imagining things. It took me about 10 minutes to walk to the 50-metres-away-from-my-door bustop cos the snow was up to my shins, and all in all, it took TWO HOURS to get to work. I was an hour late, got in about 11. There was one person in the pool - ONE! A giant snowman with swimming goggles and armbands and a shuttlecock nose and squash ball, eh, nipples was made and named Bella. As in, Houston :) Had a massive snowball fight out the back of the building too:) Anyway. The manager shut the building about half 1 - there was no point in having it open for one person.
Staff night out on Friday night was absolutley awesome. Got all happy drunk and danced and chatted. Met up with Bryan in town at around 3am cos he was out with his blokey friends. Felt rather rough on Saturday morning though:(
Was up at the hospital with Mum yesterday to see about her chemotherapy. Looks like her first dose will be a week tomorrow. She's to go in for a heart scan on Thursday cos apparently chemotherapy increases your risk of heart problems. 6-and-a-half months she'll be getting it for.
Had uni today. Bryan came up to Stirling with me to get his hair cut. It's soooo short! Very weird after seeing him with longish hair for ages. I like it:)
Anyhoo. I came online to look up stuff for an essay. I'm gonna go do that now.

[ mood | drained ]

Killing a wee bit of time before my 2pm lecture.
Was working til 11 last night. It took my aaaaaages to get to sleep, so I'm kinda pooped today.
Mum went into hospital last week to get all the lymph nodes under her arm removed. She'll find out tomorrow how many of them were cancerous. She's to start chemotherapy next week, and depending on how many lymph nodes were bad ones, she'll get radiotherapyn too. Poor mum :( Bryans coming over tonight to make a curry for us, might cheer her up a wee bit.
Apparently there's some sort of strike on at uni next week, so I dont know if ive to come up for classes on Tuesday.
Working a 20 hour weekend again this week.
I'll hear about my hardship loan next week. I'm not getting any sort of financial help at all from SAAS or whoever - no loans or grants, and I'm paying my own travelling expenses and tuition fees. Even the woman in SISS who helped me fill out the application form said that it was a pretty dire situation.
i feel all fed up :(

Blaaaaaaah. I dont feel well. All dizzy and naseaus and cold. Felt awful last night, even after lying in bed not moving for aaaaages i still felt all out of breath and light headed. Couldnt heat up tp save myself. On a course of antibiotics, apparently they can make you feel like poo :(
Uni starts back in a fortnight! Not looking forward to commuting but looking forward to going back. Ive changed my mind so many times about whether or I do wanna go back tho. Turns out that I do :)
Bryans birthday on Saturday. Going to his mums for a wee buffet thing and then i THINK through to stirling.
My mums going into hospital on Wednesday to get a lump removed from under her arm :( She's to stay stay overnight for 1 or 2 nights cos its a general anaesthetic. Glad Ive got the week of work so I can go visit n stuff.
Gonna go eat more porridge:)

Just had the best 2 weeks ever ever ever :)

Christmas. Bryan stayed at mine Christmas Eve. Opened our pressies in the morning. Bryas mum & dad picked him up to go to theirs for dinner, and me and my family went to the Kincade house for dinner. Rotten meal. We all went back to my auntie Moira's to open pressies, went home about 10, and bryans parents dropped him back off at ours. I got an iPod Nano!! Wooo!

Fast forward to NEW YEAR BABY! Got picked up in glasgow at 5am by john and sarah, drove to Prestwick, and met the other Sarah there. Flew to Hamburg, picked up the car, and drove 6 frikking hours to the hotel. Hotel was lovely :) Comfiest beds ever.

Went to Brandenburg Gate for the bells. 3 miles of sreet was pedestrianised and full of beer stalls, sausage stalls, and 2 ferris wheels. TWO! Fireworks at midnight were brilliant. There was a big stage there too, and they played GREENDAY as we were leaving. GREENDAY!!
Didn't do much on the Sunday cos we were all shattered from the night before and most stuff was shut anyway. Went to see Match Point at night.

Monday me and Bryan decided that we didn't want to fart around the hotel all day, so we got a train to Oranienburg and went to see an old concentration camp memorial place. Such an eerie place, totally quiet. Glad we went there though. Met up with john and the 2 sarah's at night, stopped off at a place that sole meeeeeeellions of wime, and went back to the hotel to get changed, and to drink :P Headed into town about 10ish. Went to a random pub for a few, then headed to a nightclub. We didnt get it!! Turns out that it was a smart shoes nightclub, and only 2 of us were wearing smart shoes. Went back to the same pub we were in cos it was open til 5am. A pub that was open til 5 in the morning! Sarah and John decide that as they were the ones with the smart shoes on, they were gonna go into the nightclub.

On Tuesday me, Bryan and the other Sarah went to Checkpoint Charlie, the Reichstag, and some other stuff. Found Berlins studenty area at nighttime. Really enjoyed that night cos up until then, we'd only really been in what were almost chain pubs. We found a photobooth in the STREET! 2 euros for 4 pics, adn they were the old fashioned black and white chunky ones. Ace! I'm gonna put all me holiday pics up on here if i ever figure out how to do it.

Wednesday was the day we had to head to Frankfurt for our flight. We were flying out at 10 to 8 at night. We asked about 39487 people how long it would take us to drive from Berlin to the airport. They all said 'Yeh, give urself 6 hours to be safe'. We left at 11am, giving ourselves 9 hours to be EXTRA safe. It took us 13 hours. Need I say more? We missed our flight. NOt only that, but our car got losked in a multi-story car park so we couldnt even sleep there. We spent the night in a fricking BANK and flew home on Thursday night. The only good thing about that was that we discovered the lovliest wee sorta, village place. Felt liked I'd stepped back in time. Sorta Tudor style buildings and wee winding streets. Just gorgeous.

Anyhooos, we're all back home now. Me & Bryan are gonna book up to go back there around July. We've both said that as soon as we're both rich, we'll go live there. I want to learn German :)

Tonight I'm at Bryans in Glasgow. Finally worked out how to connect the SkyPLus thingy so first up its an arguement about who makes the dinner, then night in in front of the telly :)
